Southern California’s housing news has been mixed. According to a recent report by DataQuick Information Systems, housing sales in Southern California fell to a year low while prices climbed higher to a new record.
In February, a total of 17,680 homes sold in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, Ventura, San Bernardino and Orange counties. That number is the lowest for any February since 1997, when 15,772 homes sold. Sales have typically averaged 18,631 since February 1998.
In regards to median sale price for a Southern California home, it was a record $495,000, up 2.1% from $485,000 in January.
