Realty Studies recently released median sale price data for January, but cautioned against reading too much in to the numbers. While the numbers are down in a number of cities, this time of year is typically a historic “down time” in houses selling and does not necessarily provide an accurate reflection of what is currently happening in the market. With that said, here are their findings:
Gilbert’s median sales price: $319,000 - down 5% over last year. December’s median sales price was $328,000.
Ahwatukee Foothills’ median price rose to $360,000 - up 6% over last year. It was the highest since August.
Tempe’s median price grew to $282,950 — up 5% over last year. Also an increase of November and December’s numbers.
Mesa dropped to $235,000 — a 2% decrease from the previous year and lowest since October.
