Boise Becomes Big Draw

Affordable housing is alive and well in Boise, Idaho, and its drawing huge crowds of interested home owners. Boise’s metropolitan area has experienced a 16% jump in population since the July 2000 Census. Boise has several attractive features that appear to be fueling its growth. Amazing mountain vistas, a fast growing economy, and its proximity to Oregon and Nevada have made it an attractive location for many trying to steer away from the pricier West Coast. Boise is being described by some as one of the nation’s top-10 previously undiscovered markets, which while smaller is still hip and affordable.

While both residential and commerical construction has fueled Idaho’s rise to fame in the past few years, its continued growth may be cooling slightly given the recent downturn in the real estate market. Time will tell if this recently discovered gem continues its rise to glory and at what pace.
