Meet the Jetson

“Condos of the Future” are not only here, but are increasing in popularity. Condos designed with smart technology are becoming more of the norm with each passing year. In South Miami, the 35-story mixed use complex, Skyline at Mary Brickell Village, is incorporating smart-building fiber-optic technology with interactive software design. The units come with a wireless docking station that connects to an interactive network, which will allow residents to have a car brought from the garage, sign in a guest, check a budget, or make dinner reservations. Upgrades that will allow residents to also open and close shades, control lighting and temperature, start the Jacuzzi or shower and operate TVs, audio systems and a home theater are also available. Seventy percent of the units are already sold, and with a price tag ranging from $450,000 to $1.2 million, in today’s slow market, that’s no small accomplishment.
