Bowen Family Homes Story

In 1969, Rudy Bowen undertook a new career by building one new home in the quiet Atlanta suburbs of Gwinnett County, Georgia. The house sold quickly, as did the next, and within five years, Rudy Bowen was building 50 homes a year. He focused on serving the needs of middle-class families, and within a decade had forged an impressive reputation for quality and value. By the early 1980s, metro Atlanta was one of America’s fastest growing cities, and Rudy Bowen needed a competitive edge among his many homebuilding peers. He began to develop his own land, avoiding third-party development costs and passing the savings onto home buyers. Suddenly, his company was creating entire communities. These new communities earned the same reputation for quality, value and lifestyle as the homes built in them.
