Chicago -- Navy Pier

Located just east of downtown on Lake Michigan, Navy Pier has been a Chicago landmark since 1916.

Originally a shipping and recreational facility, the area was renovated in 1989 after ownership was transferred
to the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority.

Navy Pier now is home to restaurants, shops and recreational facilities, including parks, rides and attractions.
