The Florida Panhandle is located along the Gulf of Mexico in northwest Florida. Major cities include Pensacola, Destin, Fort Walton Beach and Panama City Beach.
   Although the Panhandle has long been known as a Spring Break destination, the 200-mile area is also home to thousands of year-round residents who enjoy its white sands and emerald waters. Several military installations are found along the Florida Panhandle, which is also populated with restaurants, resorts and dozens of recreational areas.
