East Florida is located east of Interstate 75 along the Atlantic coast. Major cities include Jacksonville, Orlando, Gainesville, Melbourne and Daytona Beach.
   Jacksonville is the largest U.S. city in area. Home to two naval stations and the University of North Florida, the city spans nearly 875 square miles. Nearby St. Augustine is the nation's oldest city. First sighted by Ponce de Leon in 1513, the area was initially called "La Florida," meaning "Land of Flowers."
   Daytona Beach is a top Spring Break destination as well as site of the famed Daytona 500. And Orlando is one of the top tourist spots in the world. This inland community is home to 95 theme parks and attractions, including Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Cypress Gardens and Gatorland.
