Ventura County

   Ventura County is gateway to Channel Islands National Park, a wilderness preserve and marine sanctuary located a few miles off the Pacific coast. It's also home to the Los Padres National Forest; the San Buenaventura Mission; and 10 incorporated cities, including Simi Valley, site of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum.
   Early Spanish settlers named the region "San Buenaventura," which means "good fortune." Ventura County is blessed with a Mediterranean climate that stretches along 43 miles of beautiful coastline. Good fortune, indeed!
