   El Granada is located in a cove between Moss Beach and Half Moon Bay. Its main industries include fishing and tourism. El Granada is part of a group of communities known as Coastside. These unincorporated towns are governed by San Mateo County and have no municipal governments or control over local ordinances.
   Dolphins are sometimes sighted off the shores of El Granada. The aquatic mammals are so popular that the local elementary school picked a dolphin as its mascot and placed a statue of "Cupcake" on its lawn.
